When Diane Dammeyer attended Columbia College Chicago and majored in photography, it was unclear whether her photographic commitment would endure; however, she took every photo class and reveled in the adventure. Early in her career, she found that photographing poverty, social justice, and the human condition was her passion.

The camera enables Diane to relate with people whose language she does not speak. She concentrates her focus, personally connecting to each person, pressing the shutter when the shared moment crosses her lens.  People generously open up to her, and she is very grateful for the gift they give, the gift of themselves.

Dammeyer has mastered the art and is now teaching the rest of us to really see, and more importantly, to act
